In this workshop, Kelly will take participants through her entire process of making kiln-formed glass and ceramic sculptures. She will talk about how she began combining ceramic and glass, and share the rough road of discovering how to keep the glass from breaking during firing.

Due to the many little steps and multiple firings, participants who would like to have their work fired with glass will need to prepare a bisqued piece ahead of time for the glass. Kelly will provide a video tutorial prior to the class explaining what ceramic forms will work best for the process and what to avoid. Bringing a bisque piece is not a requirement, however, as there will be lots of demonstrations to watch and learn the process.
Ideally, participants will have enough ceramic experience and kiln access to bring a bisque fired form to the first class, however, all skill levels are welcome. Please let us know if you will not be able to bring a form to the class, and Kelly will make a small form so that you can melt glass into it to learn the process and bring a piece home.
Prepare to fall in love with the medium of glass!
