November Glaze Application - Santa Monica
- Location and Time
- Class Outline
Our Kiln Manager Jorge Jimenez will show you the endless possibilities for glaze application across the firing spectrum during this course. This is a great way to learn techniques you haven't seen before and to fine-tune the methods you already know. We'll cover all kinds of materials and methods: dipping, sponging, brushing, wax resist, underglaze, slip, lava and crawl glazes, and more. Each week will be based on a central theme, and the lessons will include cone 6 and 10 glazes, lusters and decals, and surface decoration.
Please note that this will be a three week course due to the Thanksgiving holiday, but we will still cover all information that we normally do in the four week version of this class.
As this class is all about the glazing process, students are required to bring in their own bisque pieces. We will start with cone 10 glazes during the first class, so if you aren unable to have cone 10 bisque ready for the first class, email email@example.com and we will help. Open studio hours are available to you during this course for you to make your pieces and have them bisque fired.
Beginner (with some experience), intermediate, and advanced potters are all welcome in this class.
Cancellations made 4 or more days before the start of the class will be refunded. A 50% refund or 50% credit toward another class or workshop will be given for cancellations made fewer than 4 full days before the start date.
Our classes are intended for adults. Teens 14 and older are welcome if accompanied by a parent. If you have a child under 14 interested in taking a class, please contact us before enrolling.
