This class is designed to improve your wheel throwing skills while helping you become proficient in making multiples of the same form and designing pottery for the dinner table with form and function in mind.
It is recommended that you are already comfortable working on the potter’s wheel and can make basic pottery forms. To get the most out of this class, we recommend you feel comfortable with all of the steps and processes you learned in Beginning Wheel, and can somewhat reliably wedge, center, and throw 2.5-3 lbs of clay. Typically, students take Beginning Wheel twice before taking Continuing Wheel.
SLS's recycled studio clay and firing for up to 15 pieces are included in the course fee. Additional clay is available for purchase as well. We ask that you bring your own tools and bats (12" bats are recommended).
