David Allison is a technology industry veteran with a deep passion for ceramics, math and material science. David has been wheel throwing and handbuilding for around 5 years in the Bay Area and now down in LA. Some of his recent work has been featured in the City of Malibu’s Art of Surf exhibit, 2022.

For the past year and a half he has been incorporating ceramic 3D printing into his artistic process. Attracted to the new capabilities offered by ceramic 3D printing, David has designed and printed hundreds of forms, tested thousands of parameter variations, clay types, moisture levels, printing speeds, written custom code for model generation, included frit, sand, and glaze chunks in printed work, and he wants to share what he’s learned to get you started on your journey leveraging these exciting new tools.
