This course is perfect for beginners who want to learn a little bit of everything! Our most comprehensive class offering to date, Combination Class will teach you the basics of making ceramics both on and off the potter’s wheel. We’ll start with two online hand building sessions, and then meet at the studio to learn wheel throwing and glazing. Create your very own collection of functional pottery to use and enjoy while discovering the serenity of working with clay.
Lessons are as follows:
Week 1: Coil pots (online)
Week 2: Slab building (online)
Week 3: Throwing (in studio)
Week 4: Trimming (in studio)
Week 5: Glazing (in studio)
Week 6: Glazing/wrap up (in studio)
Online classes meet on Tuesdays from 7-8pm. In person classes meet on Saturdays for 2 hour sessions, and we have open studio time every day for you to come practice outside of class. Before the first online class, you’ll pick up a supply kit from the studio, and then bring your tools and finished pieces back to us when you come in for your first in person class.
Course fee includes everything you need: clay, use of studio tools, a rainbow of cone 6 glazes to choose from, and firing for up to 20 pieces.
All class sessions are held within Covid safety guidelines and procedures. Masks are required at all times during class and practice hours. Class instruction will be outdoors- please dress warmly.
In each class session, you will build on what you learned and made the previous week, so we strongly advise you to make sure you’ll be able to attend all class sessions before signing up. Make up classes are not available, however If you missed a class you can follow the instructions in our YouTube.
