June Continuing Wheel: Working With Porcelain with Ian Childers - DTLA (Mateo St location)
- Location and Dates
- Class Description
Join Ian Childers in this amazing porcelain throwing class course. Porcelain can be a fickle beast, but with a little knowledge and practice, anyone can learn to throw competently. During this course, we will learn the steps to transition from throwing earthenware or stoneware to porcelain. Wedging techniques and throwing techniques are like other clays but take a little extra care. Each week will have a new goal for all participants. Potters with experience are recommended for this class; you should feel comfortable with all of the steps and processes you learned in the four week Beginning Wheel course, and can somewhat reliably wedge, center, and throw 2.5-3 lbs of clay.
