Class Session 1: Saturday, August 20th, 11 am - 5pm
The first class session will consist of an introduction and the basics of coil/slab building on a large scale. This will include how to approach designing successful forms, problem-solving, and the overall process. Students should come in with an idea in mind of what they’d like to make. Audrey will demo the technique and the best way to get started, as well as individually checking in with each student and their design goals, and helping co-design to find something doable in the setting.
Class Session 2: Sunday, August 21th, 11 am - 5pm
The work will be accessed and the building will continue. Audrey will lecture on manipulating form, the importance of coil size, and critically designing to end up with your desired result.
Class Session 3: Saturday, August 27th, 11 am - 2 pm
This final class session will be cleaning up the pieces to prepare for firing, and adding slip if desired. Audrey will discuss the firing process.
