David Stone will teach a variety of jar forms and lid styles in this four week, intermediate level course.

If you feel comfortable throwing basic forms and want to learn a new, specialized skill, challenge yourself, and reach a new level in your ceramic practice, making lidded objects on the wheel is a great next step. Instructor David Stone will cover a variety of forms and lid styles, as well as trimming and glazing strategies for your pieces.
This course is geared toward intermediate-level wheel throwers. It is recommended that you feel comfortable wedging, centering, and throwing with 5 lbs of clay to get the most out of this class; you should be able to work with at least 3 lbs of clay.
Course fee includes four weekly class meetings plus practice time between classes, SLS's recycled studio clay, and firing for up to 15 pieces. Students should bring their own tools and supplies:
- Basic throwing tools (rib, needle tool, wire cutter)
- Trimming tools
- Angled wooden knife
- 12" bats
Clay is available for purchase at the studio if there is a particular type you'd like to work with.

Cancellations made 4 or more days before the start of the class will be refunded. A 50% refund or 50% credit toward another class or workshop will be given for cancellations made fewer than 4 full days before the start date. We cannot provide refunds or credits for cancellations or rescheduling requests made after the class starts.
