Challenge yourself and learn how to throw bigger, more complex, and more stable forms efficiently. Each class will focus on one category of object or skill which may include: bowls (large and small), vases and long-necked bottles, plates, advanced trimming techniques (including how to carve a proper foot and how to use a chuck to trim bottles), lidded pots, etc.
To get the most out of this class, we recommend you feel comfortable with all of the steps and processes you learned in Beginning Wheel, and can somewhat reliably wedge, center, and throw 2.5-3 lbs of clay. Typically, students take Beginning Wheel twice before taking Continuing Wheel.
You can make up to 15 pieces during the four week course. Bring your ideas! This is about learning to make what you really want to make. In addition to the weekly class meetings, we have open hours seven days a week for you to come in and work on your own.
