Throwing jars on the wheel is a fun and rewarding skill to try once you've mastered cups and bowls, and in this workshop, Diana Adams of SampleHAUS will walk you through the process of making lidded forms in one piece and show you the best way to trim them for a perfect fit. Diana will also teach her signature method of carving her pots and adding fabric accents to create vibrant mixed-media ceramics that are unique and functional works of art.
Day one of the workshop will be devoted to learning to throw the forms that will become our jars, and will also include an artist talk and Q+A session with Diana. The following week, we'll return to trim and carve our jars and learn Diana's method of applying fabric to her fired pieces.
This workshop is best for advanced beginner and intermediate level potters who are comfortable with the basics of wheel throwing.
Under the brand SampleHAUS, Diana Adams creates small batch pottery and one-of-a-kind works of art from interior design waste and discontinued samples.
