Hand building is a freeform, meditative process and you'll be able to use your skills to create a variety of objects like teacups, vases, bowls, and planters.
A versatile technique that can be used to make a variety of objects such as vases, planters, and bowls.
Students learn basic soft slab construction by rolling a slab, making a simple cylindrical vase, and ways to embellish their pieces.
Explore creating a small hollow form, manipulating it, and adding details to create figurative sculptures and abstract pieces.
In this class, you will learn how to use two or more clay bodies to create a marbled effect. The class will cover carving techniques and ways to create beautifully organic surface textures.
Participants are taught how to use a form to create larger cylinders, how to alter these forms using darts, and how to use these as the basis to make things like pitchers and vases. Some experience recommended.
This class is all about ways to decorate the forms you have created. Your artist instructor will demonstrate the different ways to use underglaze, as well as Mishima (clay inlay), and slip trailing.
Learn how to throw on the potter’s wheel in this well rounded, two-part course. Instructors go over how to prep your clay, the throwing process from start to finish as well as trimming to refine the shape and add a foot.
