Glazes and Firings - We Fire It All

We are constantly in awe of glazes. The ability to transform a simple piece of clay with just a dip, pour or brush strokes is truly magical.

The desire to experiment with glazes and have a wide variety choices is at core of why we opened a community studio.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to glazes - from glossy to matte, from bright and vibrant to subtle and earthy. Having the freedom to play around with different combinations and techniques is encouraged. Push your boundaries!. Whether it’s choosing between atmospheric cone 10 firings in oxidation and reduction, or a different temperature firings in cone 5, or even trying a different firing technique like Raku or luster - we fire it all!

The unpredictability of the firing process adds an element of surprise and intrigue, keeping us constantly inspired and engaged. Having the opportunity to work with glazes in all their complexity and versatility is truly a gift. From glaze application to glaze chemistry - there is always more to learn. The artistic power of glazes is truly unparalleled, and we are grateful every day for the opportunity to work with such a beautiful and transformative medium.
