May 9: Clay Inlay for a Day in May with Claudia V. Solórzano
On this day in May,
We will work with clay,
And illustrate upon a slab.
Draw a simple design,
A circle or line,
Maybe bring a friend to do a collab.
At the end of our session,
Don’t forget to mention,
To @Still_Life_Ceramics all of your fun.
And know that it was a pleasure for me,
To teach you and see,
All the beautiful work you have done.
In this workshop, we will illustrate on slabs using contrasting colored clays, and use these slabs to make a cylindrical vessel or a flat piece of art for your wall. No previous clay experience is necessary, and this would be a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day with family! All tools and clay are provided.
You will be led by visual artist Claudia V. Solórzano from City Terrace, East Los Angeles. With 10 years experience with clay, Claudia’s work is based on themes of domesticity and childhood experience whilst incorporating ideas of feminism.
