Sgraffito Vase

Made by artist Mari Yui. This hand-built vase is painted in red, black, and yellow underglaze while the clay is still soft enough to be altered; it is then carved through to reveal the raw clay body underneath. Child-like and graffiti-like imagery mingle on this unique piece with a distinctive hand-drawn style.
