How much do you enjoy pushing up against boundaries and defying the norm? What about toying with the rules, getting lost, or making mistakes? If these ideas are not particularly your cup of tea, let me just ask one more question - when was the last time you let go, fully immersed yourself in play, and discovered something fresh?

This experience is for the genuinely curious and adventurous at heart that are attracted to learning about inventive ways in which to rejuvenate and build momentum within their artistic practices.

Participants can expect a fun, exciting, and collaborative atmosphere rich in both traditional and non-traditional ceramic techniques from hand-building to casting and cold-working solid bricks of glaze. This environment will provide space where individuals can freely challenge materials and investigate processes in turn developing authentic ways of thinking and making.

Purposefully focused on playful exploration, this hands-on workshop will give participants the opportunity to embark on a creative journey that rigorously challenges the possibilities of the ceramic vessel. The container, the void, the receptacle, the pot, the vessel, will become a springboard from which we leap, creating objects that unapologetically hinge on the verge of utility and sculpture.
