In this hand-building workshop, join Chunmei Jia and learn how to create surface designs on slabs using various clay layering and inlay methods. Chunmei will introduce nerikomi techniques, stacking and slicing experiments with different clay bodies, also layering and collaging techniques to create abstract or pictorial designs on the slab surface. This workshop will demonstrate hand-building basics in the clay inlay process, such as rolling your slabs and joining well, simple building methods, and ways to avoid cracking.
